Testimonials

From Professor John Martin, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at UCL.
I am a founder of Ark Therapeutics Group Ltd., a biotechnology company. Nicholas Norman has been managing my financial affairs for over 10 years. I have complete confidence in the way he has managed them, particularly in the way he has been proactive. Nick has been invaluable in setting up my pension planning. I charged him as the sole adviser for the future strategy of my financial affairs, not only looking after my investments but also planning for my retirement. Without him I would now be in a far less organised and less financially stable situation. I have no hesitation in recommending him as an attentive, far sighted and creative financial planner and anager.
From Emeritus Professor Christopher W Pitt, formerly Dean of Engineering Sciences at UCL.
Some fifteen years ago I met Nicholas Norman as a client adviser at the Prudential and relied on his advice on pension, insurance and related financial matters. When he became an independent financial adviser he continued in that role in respect of my pension, share portfolio, savings and insurance arrangements. Subsequently my wife has joined his clientele. I consider that the advice that I have received over this period has been sound and robust, and that the service that he has provided has been honest and efficient. My wife and I remain satisfied clients.
From Professor John Wells, Department of Phonetics & Linguistics at UCL.
Nicholas Norman has been my financial adviser for several years, first on behalf of the Prudential, more recently as a member of the Positive Solutions. I have been impressed by the care he has expended in looking after my affairs, setting the various options before me with clarity and offering helpful and impartial advice. He has been ready to expend time and energy exploring avenues which I eventually decided not to follow, such as offshore investment. Without his help I might have made some foolish investment decisions. I generally find financial affairs a chore. Nicholas was able to recommend a good accountant to sort out my tax affairs, and he and Nicholas have worked together to lift the oppressive burden I used to feel whenever I had to deal with financial affairs.
From Professor Emeritus Hugh Clout, Department of Geography, and former Dean of the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences, UCL.
Having listened to Nicholas Norman’s presentation at a UCL pre-retirement seminar, I realised that I would need help with the investment of my forthcoming lump sum and with the general management of my financial affairs. I have been very satisfied with the advice that Nicholas has given me over the past four years. He always provides a clear assessment of options, identifying advantages and disadvantages, before reaching his recommendation. He maintains regular contact through e-mail and by face-to-face meetings in central London every few months. He has steered my various investments along a very successful path through the difficult financial circumstances of recent years. When my partner needed financial advice regarding the implications of partial retirement, Nicholas again provided very wise counsel enabling appropriate decisions to be reached. We are both very pleased with his recommendations on the spread and nature of our investments. We greatly appreciate his advice and certainly recommend him to other members of the UCL community who may be in need of a financial manager to help them through their retirement years.
From Dr Gillian Peach, Emeritus Reader, Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCL.
I am Dr Gillian Peach, an Emeritus Reader in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and a longstanding member of Staff at UCL. Nicholas Norman has been advising me on my financial affairs for over ten years starting from the period before I retired. He has always given me very good advice on the nature and spread of my investments and I no hesitation in recommending him warmly to you as a well-informed financial manager.
From Dr Janina Chowaniec, Senior Lecturer at UCL.
It can sometimes be difficult for individuals to know where to seek advice, or how to find a reputable financial advisor.
I can recommend Mr Nicholas Norman to anyone who is interested. He has provided excellent advice over recent years concerning an investment portfolio related to my non-USS pension; the portfolio is appropriate for my personal circumstances and has performed really well. He also has been very helpful in explaining my options (USS and non-USS) when I do eventually retire.
I believe that Mr Norman is already known to UCL via his workshops/talks on forthcoming retirement and he certainly has other clients among UCL's academic staff, whom he advises on an individual basis.
From Dr Graham Roberts, Department of Computer Science at UCL.
I am Dr Graham Roberts, Department of Computer Science. Nicholas Norman has been managing my financial affairs for the last five years. He has assisted me greatly with reviewing and organizing my investments, and in planning my retirement income strategy. I would strongly recommend him to my colleagues
From Dr Daisy l Neijmann, Department of Scandinavian Studies at UCL.
Since our first meeting earlier this year, Nicholas has been a most efficient advisor who has provided my partner and myself with invaluable assistance. His advice on pension contributions has been very knowledgeable and helpful, and during the last couple of months he has steered us through the very stressful process of first-time house buying, helping us sort out a mortgage and obtain the necessary insurance/assurance with remarkable speed and efficiency. We greatly value his guidance in financial matters.
From Mrs Patricia Dunnill wife of the late Professor Peter Dunnill, Chairman, the Advanced Centre of Biochemical Engineering at UCL.
Peter first met Nicholas when organising Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVC's) with Prudential some ten years ago. More recently, in his current role as an IFA, he has steered us through the 65 plus issues. Planning in a post 9/11 era had become less straight forward and we found his advice clear and well formulated. When Peter died in the autumn of 2009, Nicholas was of great assistance to me, particularly with regards probate matters and the overall administration of financial papers. I have great confidence and trust in Nicholas and I would recommend him to anyone who needs sound independent financial planning advice.
From Dr Michael Dewar, Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering at UCL.
Nicholas has been advising me on financial matters for the last six years. I have followed the advice he has given me concerning the distribution of my investments and I value the fact that, as an Independent Financial Advisor, he has no particular financial products or company to promote. I am now planning for my retirement and am happy to have regular access to his expertise as I do so.
